Windows Live Writer and the Death of the Desktop

by brad 9. March 2009 15:16

I’ve been using Windows Live Writer lately to compose blog posts.  And apparently, I’m not alone.  It’s no wonder either – this is WAY better than writing using Community Server’s web-based admin.

Which is interesting … I’m using a desktop app to write a blog, one of the webbiest things you can do.  Isn’t the web supposed to be the new platform for everything?  With AJAX and Web 2.0, aren’t desktop apps supposed to die off, replaced with their webby counterparts?

Apparently not.  Seems the desktop is still kicking.  For now, at least.
